partypoker MILLIONS Online Begins, Adds to Busy Month for Online Tournament Series

Note: This article was originally published 8/24/22, but technical issues required it to be re-posted. Fortunately, the timing worked out as such that we could just alter a couple things to make it work.

Off to a quick start

It seems that the online poker tournament series season is upon us. The 2022 World Series of Poker online is currently running on GGPoker and a sister series is coming soon on WSOP.com for players in the United States. Next up, though is the return of the partypoker MILLIONS Online, starting today.

Spanning most of September (September 1-27), partypoker MILLIONS Online features 15 events and $6.3 million in guaranteed prize pools.

The highlight, of course, is the $3,200 buy-in Main Event, which comes with a $2 million guarantee. There are six starting flights throughout the month. The first is on September 4, with another each Sunday, and then two on September 26. Day 2 is also on September 26, so those who qualify from one of those last two opening flights could be in for a long day. The final day of the Main Event is on September 27.

Ramiro Petrone of Argentina won the partypoker MILLIONS Online Main Event last year, banking $859,018.

“I’m really excited for MILLIONS Online,” partypoker ambassador Patrick Leonard said in a press release when the schedule was announced. “Last time out, I made the Main Event final table and was gutted to be eliminated after coming so far. The quality structure and amazing satellite system makes this a must-play series. I can’t wait.”

The very first day of MILLIONS online is a big one, with opening flights for four different tournaments. They effectively come in pairs. The first two are both Progressive Knockout tournaments. Event 1, the Opener PKO event, has a $1,575 buy-in and Event 2, the Mini Opener PKO, has a $162 buy-in. Both finish up on September 5. Then there is Event 3, the $530 buy-in Super 500 and Event 4, the $109 buy-in Super 100, both of which conclude on September 15.

Loads of action in September

As mentioned, there are other online tournament series going on both right now and very soon, creating an extremely competitive tournament landscape. The 2022 World Series of Poker Online started a week and a half ago on GGPoker and will run through September 27, with 33 official gold bracelets awarded during that span.

For players in the US, WSOP.com will host the WSOP Online September 10 through October 18. Players in New Jersey and Nevada will compete on a single platform for 33 bracelets, while Michigan and Pennsylvania will have their own versions of WSOP Online for six bracelets each.

Then there is the granddaddy of them all, PokerStars’ World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP). PokerStars recently announced the schedule, which includes 322 tournaments and $85 million in guarantees from September 4 through September 28.

The bottom line is if you live outside the United States and can’t find an online tournament in September, you aren’t trying.
