Being the biggest online poker room in the world is not enough for PokerStars, they also want to have important world records under their belt, like most players at an internet poker room and largest online poker tournament. The fun part is that they already hold those world records but they enjoy breaking them.
The first world record that PokerStars has is for the largest online poker tournament, which is set at sixty five thousand players and it happened in July this year. But on December 27th at 2:45 pm, PokerStars will be aiming to break the record by hosting a $1 buy-in tournament with $300K guaranteed. For those players that don’t have a dollar in their account satellite tournaments will also be available for just a few cents. The registration process is now open in the tourney lobby under the “special” category.
If in the meantime, if the record for most players at an internet poker room is also broken, PokerStars will be very happy. The current record is set at 307,016 players sitting down at 42,814 tables. The last weekend of the year will have hundreds of thousands of dollars at stake and hopefully some new world records as well.
