November is approaching, and with it the final clash of the November Nine. Six of the nine Final Table players for the WSOP Main Event are sponsored by Poker Stars, which is why the site is celebrating with promotions, freerolls and chances to play against the potential champs.
With a little poetic license, PokerStars calls Darus Suharto, David ‘Chino’ Rheem, Dennis Phillips, Ivan Demidov, Peter Eastgate and Ylon Schwartz “Million Dollar Men” – actually, they all stand to win a minimum of $900,670. Perhaps PokerStars assumes none of these players will be the first to bust out of the final table.
In the meantime, PokerStars is celebrating these players with a series of freerolls between September 27 and October 17. These daily freerolls are satellites into the Million Dollar Men Main Event – a single table tournament with all six November Niners and three qualifiers for a chance to win $100,000 and spectacular bragging rights. Along with the payout structure for the Million Dollar Men Main Event, PokerStars made this touching clarification: “We are also pleased to announce that all cash prizes won by the Million Dollar Men in this tournament will be donated to the charity of that player’s choice!”
For those who would like to play against a future WSOP champ, PokerStars is also hosting the “Outlast the Million Dollar Men” tournament, in which for a $5.50 buy-in players can face all 6 Million Dollar Men in a tournament. The players who manage to outlast all of the November Niners will get an equal share of $25,000 as an added prize. If you really want to play against one of them inparticular, keep an eye out for the Million Dollar Men VIP 1-Table Tournament – each of these players will be playing in two of these tournaments between now and November, and they will have a bounty of $250 on their heads.
.
There is more: how would you like a share in one of these Million Dollar Men? Are you certain Eastgate is the next WSOP Champion? Or is your heart set on Demidov? PokerStars will host six exclusive “Win a Share” tournaments (one for each player) with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000, but – even more interestingly – the top 100 players will also win a share in the winnings of the player for whom the tournament is being played. It is a small percentage, only 0.01%, but even if your player busts out first and you only get $90, they will be $90 from the WSOP Main Event prize.
