The first season of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour was a complete success. A total of 1,309 players registered for the different events. Season One schedule had five stops and the final was held at the Gold Coast, the total prize pool was $950K.
Season two was recently announced by PokerStars and one more stop has been added to the schedule which only means that more players will get a chance to play for the big prizes. The first stop will be made in Adelaide from February 9-14 and the festivities will be held over the course of 13 days. There will be Omaha side events, Bounty tournaments, one ladies only event, one team event, a high roller tournament and live satellites.
The new stop on the schedule will take players to Perth which is located on the west side of Australia. The festivities will only last five days and the tourney is capped at 300 players.
The third stop will be made in Sydney from April 21st through the 25th and a large player field is expected, the tournament is capped at 500 players. Fourth on the schedule is the stop in Queenstown which is the smallest event capped at 250 players. The fifth event will take place at the Conrad Jupiters Casino at the Gold Coast the festivities will start on August 11th through the 15th.
The main event will be hosted in Melbourne at the Crown Casino from October 8th through the 11th, the tournament will have a maximum capacity of 450 players and further details about the side events will be released in the near future.
