PokerStars APPT Auckland field in narrowed to 32 players

There were a total of 130 players that started day two and the day would end as soon as the field was narrowed to 32 of them.  When the field was down to 90 players there were three that stood out from the rest, they were the only females left from the starting field.  Among the three women alive in the tournament was Emma Grace, she was the top Australian female poker player in the 2009 WSOP main event.  The other two remaining women in the field were Candice Smith and Angie Fitzgerald.

Emma was the first one to make a big move she pushed her chips to the center of the table while holding pocket queens.  Unfortunately for her German player Jens Walther called and was in for the ride with pocket aces. The board ran and did not help Emma improve her hand, she was the first of the three women remaining to hit the rail.  Soon after Emma was out of the tournament, Candice pushed her short stack all-in while holding As-Kd. There was one caller as Wayne Barry wanted in on the action with his pocket aces.  Candice had the same luck as Emma when the board did not help to improve her hand and that left only one woman on the field, Angie Fitzgerald.

In level ten, Angie made a move worth all her chips while holding pocket fours, she got one caller; it was PokerStars qualifier Tamas Lendvai with his Ac-7h.  The board brought a seven on the river and that was enough for Tamas to win the hand and send Angie to the rail.

The second day also took PokerStars Pro Tony Hachem, Grant Levy, and Emad Tahtouh to the rail. The bubble boy was Chinese player Hong Kai Shi, he busted out when his Kc-Qs did not hold up against a straight that player Jason Brown hit on the river card.

Among the thirty two players remaining there are plenty of PokerStars qualifiers and the only two PokerStars pros remaining are: Assadour Assadourian and his son Eric Assadourian.
