The beautiful city of Tallinn is the location for the Baltic Festival which has brought around 300 players to battle it out in hopes of leaving this gorgeous city with a fat check in their pocket.
Day one A kicks off today with 130 players and play will stop when there’s probably 60 players left. Among the field today there’s only one PokerStars pro, Mexican player JC Alvarado who flew to Europe to participate in the EPT Warsaw, but the cash games in Poland captured his attention and he stayed longer than expected and decided to give the Baltic Festival a try.
One American player also stands out in the field, Shaun Deeb reached the Supernova status at PokerStars and packed his suitcase in pursuit of a major win at a live tournament which he hasn’t had, despite his well known success in online tournaments.
Poker is a game that anyone can enjoy, and many celebrities love to play poker as well as politicians and athletes from the many different types of sports. Living proof of this is former NBA star Martin Müürsepp who has entered the tournament and will be battling for the top prize. Martin’s countryman Mart Mardisalu who is a television presenter has made a prop bet with him of who will last longer in the tournament.
The amount of players pre-registered for day one B is 150 and tournament organizers hope to have even more than that show up tomorrow.
