The final table at the Baltic Festival was an all-European table. Among the players were two PokerStars qualifiers: Johan Nilsson from Sweden and Kenneth Danielsen from Norway; the only PokerStars sponsored player was Claus Bek Nielsen. The chip leader was the Danish player Michael Fardan.
The first player to bust out of the final table was the Finnish player Antti Karkkainen, who was happy to be playing a final table on his birthday, but unfortunately he did not last as long and had to go celebrate earlier than he had planned.
Eighth place was taken by the Swedish player Johan Nilsson when he pushed his chips to the center of the table while holding pocket nines. He got two callers, but Thomas Partridge moved all in as well, which scared off the chip leader Michael Fardan. When Partridge showed his pocket rockets and the board gave him the nut flush draw, the chip leader was happy because he got out of the way. Seventh place was taken by Jerry Wong, who was left with a micro stack and had to move all-in with his twenty thousand chips; unfortunately for him his cards were not good enough and Claus Bek Nielsen’s hand took him out of the tournament.
The sixth place was for Finnish player Petri Heinanen after running his pocket Kings into the Ah-10s that Thomas Partridge held, and the board brought an Ace on the turn.
Fifth place was taken by the starting chip leader, Michael Fardan, after he moved all-in with his Ac-6c and he got James Keys to call while holding pocket tens, the board ran dry for Fardan and Keys’s cards held-up.
Out in fourth place was the only PokerStars sponsored player, Claus Bek Nielsen. He was out after pushing all-in and getting James Keys as the caller with pocket Aces. The board did not improve and Nielsen hit the rail.
Norwegian player Kenneth Danielsen had a great performance during the entire tournament and the cards favored him until he made a move with Ac-10C and he got James Keys to call with Ad-Ks, the board brought an Ace but it never brought a ten and Danielsen was another casualty.
The last two men standing were fellow countrymen James Keys and Thomas Partridge, their heads-up match lasted less than an hour and the one to take home the largest amount of money was the 24-year-old Thomas Partridge.
