Poker players around the world have made the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure a regular stop in their live tournament schedules. Spending two weeks at the beautiful island of the Bahamas at the beginning of the year in something that most people will gladly do, and even more if they have the a chance to win millions of dollars in cash prizes.
In 2009 the PCA saw Canadian player Poorya Nazari outlast the field of 1,374 players during five days of play, to take down the $3 million first place prize. The total prize pool for the event capped at a massive $12,674,000. A total of 1,061 players earned their through PCA tournament qualifiers on PokerStars.
All the packages that will be awarded for the 2010 PCA will include the main event buy-in, hotel accommodation, room folio and extra cash for traveling expenses. Satellites are currently running and will continue until January.
The Poker Caribbean Adventure has become the biggest tournament in the world outside of the United States. This up-coming year the event will run from January 4th through the 14th.
A variety of tournaments will be available during the event, including Pot Limit Omaha turbos, Battleship multi table and heads up events, a Ladies only event, a No Limit Hold’em heads up challenge, a Pot Limit Omaha heads up tourney, and many other tournaments.
