The main event at the European Poker Tour stop in Barcelona started with 478 players, including some of the biggest names in the poker world. Among the stars who made the trip to Barcelona were Daniel Negreanu, Robert Mizrachi, Asa Smith, Samer Rahmen, Brandon Schaefer, Mike McDonald, Noah Boeken, Sandra Naujoks, Ivan Deminov, Peter Eastgate, Dario Minieri, Pieter de Korver, Alex Kravchenko, Marcel Luske, William Thorson, Juan Maceiras, Fatima Moreira de Melo, Boris Becker, Scotty Nguyen and many others.
There are 27 players remaining and six of those are PokerStars qualifiers. The chip lead is held by Matt Lapossie, a PokerStars qualifier who won an LA Poker Classic event earlier this year for $53K.
The only PokerStars Pro left standing is Bertrand Grospellier, who sits with the 10th biggest chip stack.
The final table will be played out on Wednesday September 9th, and the way things are going, Matt Lapossie is in great shape to take down the event if he can keep up his strong play.
