The tournament at Vilamoura has seen very tough competition; the starting field of 322 players is now down to 38 players, only three of which are PokerStars Pros.
PokerStars Pro Ruben Visser held the chip lead at one point in the tournament until Jeff Sarwer managed to take it from him. However, Frenchmen Antony Lellouche in closing in on Jeff Sarwer and it looks like there could be a long battle ahead.
PokerStars recently added Jude Ainsworth their pro team and he is representing the poker room in his first EPT event. His performance has been very good and he has now officially cashed in the tournament. He is also among the top fifteen players in chips so he is definitely a contender at this point.
To send players into the money, chipleader Sarwer the bubble executioner after making a tough call against Sergey Lebedev. Sarwer has holding Ks-10s and his opponent, Lebedev, held As-Qh. The board ran 9h-9s-Qd and Sarwer raised 26K but Lebedev quickly pushed all his chips 57K to the center of the table. After a few moments Sarwer decided to call and showed his cards. The turn was a 2s which did not change anything, but the Jd on the river gave Sarwer a straight and Lebedev the unfortunate bubble boy.
