PokerStars EPT Vilamoura Day Two

Not all the PokerStars pros survived day 1B at the beautiful Vilamoura Marina in Portugal.  Some of the names that won’t be returning for day two include: Peter Eastgate, Vanessa Rousso, Dario Minieri, Carter Phillips, Huck Seed, Sebastian Ruthenberg, Pascal Perrault, George Danzer, Marcin Hocrecki, Bertrand Grospellier and Juan Maceiras.

But the good thing is that some PokerStars pros and qualifiers survived their first day of play at the tournament and have returned to the felts hoping to remain in contention.  Some of the players that made it through day 1B were: Luca Pagano, Jan Heitmann, Alex Kravchenko, Juan Manuel Pastor, Johannes Strassmann and Jude Ainsworth.

Day 2 has started and the chip leader at the start of the day was Jeff Sarwer with 144K chips.  Only ten minutes into the second day of play and another PokerStars pro has been eliminated as Chad Brown had the unfortunate luck of running his pocket fours into pocket kings on the first hand of the day.

Only twenty two minutes into the second day two PokerStars pros faced each other in a hand that saw Katja Thater push all-in while holding pocket fours and Jason Mercier wanted in on the action with his As-9s, unfortunately for Thater an ace came on the flop and the next two cards did not help her pocket pair.

There are only 119 players remaining in the tournament and plenty of PokerStars qualifiers and a few pros seemed to be in good position, including Matthew Nieberg, Ruben Visser, Pierre Neuville, Jan Heitmann, Jason Mercier and Shaun Deeb among others have a good position in the tournament.
