The PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker has been the largest tournament series online since its inception in 2002. The first main event raised a prize pool of $238,000 and the eventual winner took home $65,450. Over the years the WCOOP has grown exponentially with online Poker, and this year’s Main Event has a $10 million guaranteed prize pool and will award the winner well over a million dollars.

The WCOOP will have 45 events including the Main Event that will all have impressive prize pools. There tournaments will start on September 3rd and run through the 20th.

All Pokerstars players that qualify or buy-in directly to the WCOOP events will have the chance to play with some of the best poker players from around the world. In the WCOOP 2008, Chris Moneymaker and Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier were among the notable professionals to have impressive finishes.

PokerStars will be having satellites that will start for as low as $1 or 100 FPP running around the clock.
