PokerStars is involved in all major tournaments worldwide; if they don’t sponsor the event they probably have some of the best players on the field wearing their logos.
The PokerStars APPT Macau main event is now underway and one hundred and nineteen players started the tourney. The field of players couldn’t be better, with big names in poker including Johnny Chan, who currently has 10 WSOP bracelets; and Mansour Matloubi, an Iranian poker player that won the WSOP main event in 1990.
PokerStars.net team Australia is also part of the tournament, the players are Emad Tahtouh, Eric Assadourian (who won the APPT Macau main event in 2007 and took home $368,640) and Grant Levy, who won in 2007 the APPT Sydney event and took home $875,542.
Some other popular names in poker and part of the PokerStars.net team Asia that will be part of the tournament are Jonathan Lin, Raymond Wu and Dan Schreiber, who won the 2007 WSOP Heads-Up Event.
A poker player that will not go unnoticed, particularly because of his big cashes this year is the 2009 Crown Aussie Millions Champion Stewart Scott.
The chip lead is currently held by Brandon Demes who has 102,200 chips. Following in second place is David Steicke with 82,300 and in third place Jeff Su with 82,000 chips. The tournament is just starting and there will be many chip lead changes.
