Starting yesterday, August 4th, and running through next Sunday the 16th, PokerStars will be running multiple daily “Extreme” satellites to their WCOOP tournaments with over a million dollars in added value.
These tournaments will run twice, or three times daily depending on the day of the week and all will have either 50 or 100 extra WCOOP seats added to the prize pool. This afternoon at 2 PM EST there is an $82 buy-in satellite with 50 extra $530 WCOOP seats added, and this evening at 9 PM EST there will be a $27 tournament with 100 $215 seats added.
The term “overlay” is used to describe a tournament when the amount of money put up by the players does not add up to the guaranteed prize pool, causing the host poker site to contribute money. Players on PokerStars may not be familiar with this term, as it is a very rare occasion that their guarantees are not met; however, with these new satellites players are guaranteed extra value for their money.
Some of the larger “Extreme” satellites are the $215 buy-in with 50 $1,050 seats added on August 10th, the $215 buy-in with 50 $2,100 seats added on August 15th, and the enormous $215 buy-in with 50 $5,200 Main Event seats added on August 16th.
Players should log on now to take part in these lucrative tournaments. All players fortunate enough to win a seat will be required to play in an actual WCOOP event.
