The World Series of Online Poker has come to an end at PokerStars, and it was a complete success. A high percentage of the tourneys had more players than expected, which led to bigger prize pools; at some tournaments the prize was doubled, even tripled.
PokerStars pro Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier had an outstanding performance in event 38 at the WCOOP. The No Limit Hold’em tourney with one re-buy and one add-on had a total of 1,169 players and prize pool that exceeded $1.3 million. ElkY was the last man standing after 15 hours of intense play, and he saw his bankroll increase in $232K. The runner-up was “Ginsash” with $171K and the third place finisher was “Pinnekjott” with $129K.
Grospellier also registered for event 43 and had a remarkable performance in which he managed to take on the massive 9,220 player field battling to make it to the money. The guaranteed prize pool was almost doubled to $1.8 million that would be distributed among 1,350 players. At the end Grospellier took down the event and the $263K first place prize.
In other PokerStars news, event 44 was a HORSE high roller tournament that had 103 players, it took 16 hours of play to put an end to the tournament and Daniel “djk123” Kelly took the 1st place prize of $252K.
