Peter Eastgate has been quite busy traveling and playing poker, participating in several live tournaments this year, including the recent EPT Barcelona in which he did not do very well.
After returning from his trip to Barcelona he registered to the WCOOP High Roller Match Play event on September 13th. The first match he had was a real challenge that took four hours to complete. Eastgate crippled his opponent early on, but the short stack then sucked out on him a few times before final succumbing to the 2008 WSOP main event champion. His second match was against the German Tobias Reinkemeier who also participated in the EPT Barcelona, and was involved in one of the most commented poker hands at the EPT Barcelona in which he made Roland de Wolfe muck the best hand at showdown. That second match was fairly easy and it didn’t take Eastgate too much time to leave his opponent empty handed. The third match was against “Adonis112” who is known for being a maniac at the tables as well as a rude player who likes to verbally abuse his opponents at the tables. Eastgate eventually finished the event in 8th place and won $56K.
In other PokerStars news, the WCOOP events scheduled for today include a No Limit Hold’em 6-max tourney with re-buys and guaranteed prize pool of $1 million. Also, at 4:30pm today there will be a Pot Limit Omaha 6-max tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of $600K.
