In level six on day 1B the Australian Pro Tony Hachem announced that he was all-in when the board was Kd-10d-2d-Ks-Qd. There were no callers but Tony showed his royal flush anyway. The field at the APPT Auckland has PokerStars qualifiers from Sweden, Canada, Moldova, Spain, Hungary, Belarus, Germany and United States. But one player that stands out as a favorite among the fans is a local hip-hop artist who goes by the nickname Brotha D. He won his seat after taking down a live tournament held on Tuesday, and since then the media has been all over him.
Day one A ended with PokerStars pro Emad Tahtouh in the chip lead. Emad will be targeting his third consecutive cash at this live event. The first day of the tournament had 135 players and organizers hope to see even more players than year’s event which attracted 306 players.
The second day of the tournament brought a new chip leader, Lance Climo, who won his seat in a PokerStars satellite on Monday. Other PokerStars qualifiers who had greats first days include French players Gerome Guitteau and Soren Eriksen.
