PokerStars WCOOP Tournaments for Today

The World Championship of Online Poker tournaments have had a bigger success than expected by PokerStars, with most of the guaranteed prize pools exceeding their target numbers with ease.

Today, Wednesday September 16, PokerStars will host two WCOOP tournaments. The first one will be a No Limit Hold’em with big antes at 2:30 pm ET – it will be hosted by Victor Ramdin and the guaranteed prize pool is half a million dollars. The second tournament scheduled for today will be a Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo tournament and the prize pool will also be half a million dollars.

This past weekend some of the biggest guaranteed prize pools were at stake in the WCOOP tournaments. Event #26 saw the prize pool almost double, with nine thousand seven hundred and ninety five players fighting to make it to the money and take home a chunk of the $1.9 plus prize pool. After eighteen hours and eighteen minutes of play, the last man standing was “lelijk22” who took home $274K. The runner-up was “dunkmaster50” who took $199K for 2nd, while “equinespy” cashed in 3rd for $141K.

By far the largest guaranteed prize pool of the weekend was for the 2 day event that started on September 13th. It was a No Limit Hold’em tournament that had players battling for the $3.2 million prize pool. American “Unsyatisfied” outlasted the field and took down the $513K prize.
