The WCOOP events started on September the 3rd and PokerStars players have been salivating over the bloated prize pools. Most of the guaranteed prize pools so far have been exceeded due to the high number of entrants.
Event number one had a guaranteed prize pool of $1,250,000 but the entries to the tourney bumped up the prize pool to $1.7 million. After nineteen hours of play Finnish player ChopSueyyy took the first place prize of $234,421. MMalipo finished 2nd for $183K, and Canadian Futuro took third for $119K.
Saturday September 5th had a PokerStars WCOOP event with a one million dollar prize pool. Just before the tournament entered the 10th hour a winner was declared – Greek player “vakAAttack” took down the $183K prize, with US player “DHUSTLER15” cashing in 2nd for $133K and German player “merkurstar” taking 3rd for $101K.
September 6th had three WCOOP events scheduled and each prize pool once again each prize pool exceeded its guarantee. The first event of the day was a No Limit tourney which was won by “ternoplayer” for $303K. Next up was a $10K high roller event won by Swedish player “Sumpas”, who took home $611K for his efforts. The last WCOOP event of the day was a $3 million guaranteed prize pool, which American player “hustla16” won for $446K.
