Titan Poker has revealed the winners of its Titan Poker Team promotion for 2009. The twelve members will be representing the online poker site at live tournaments around the world.

Titan Poker launched its pursuit of new poker talent in September 2008, offering the top twelve players from Canada and European countries a chance at tournament sponsorship and poker stardom. Players of all skill levels were invited to compete in a series of monthly qualifying tournaments, and winners participated in the Final Country Tournaments held on Friday, Dec. 18.

One of the twelve winners is 32-year-old kolinci, an Italian player that has been playing online poker for the past four years. Being part of the team will give kolinci his first shot at a live tournament. “I’m honored and overjoyed at the opportunity to participate in my first live tournaments as part of the Titan Poker Team,” he said. “My philosophy in life is Carpe Diem and this is what I intend to do this year!”

The other 11 members of the Titan Poker Team hail from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Finland, Canada and the Netherlands. Titan revealed the names of some its new sponsored players late last week:

Jerome “meezuu” Bessout (France)
Damian “Dacio84” Ciomperlik (Germany)
Johannes “GeniusJay” Zacharias (Germany)
Mohamed “dalioss” Ali Azabi (Germany)
Maria “macab” Cabaleiro (Spain)
Jordan “EZmoney12” McAllister (Canada)
Eugen “eatmynuts20” Gout (Netherlands)

Upon qualifying to represent their country on the Titan Poker Team, players will be given a 6-month sponsorship contract for the first half of 2009 to represent Titan Poker at tournaments, as well as $16,500 to use for buy-ins at major land based poker tournaments. Each winner will also have their own web page and blog dedicated to sharing their experiences throughout the six months.

The team members will be required to wear Titan Poker gear at all land-based events, as well as report their tournament play in text and pictures and update their web page at least once a month. Ten percent of their winnings will be deposited into their Titan Poker account, but they’ll get to keep all tournament winnings during the six-month span.

Aside from its Titan Poker Team promotion, Titan Poker offers several other opportunities for its players to represent the site at live events. Players can qualify to win seats to the Asian Poker Tour events, Aussie Millions and many others. The site is also running a Million Dollar Race promotion from January through April, 2009, when it will give away $1,000,000 in guaranteed cash prizes.
