Bodog Poker put out a list of top money earners for 2009, which is highly appreciated by all the poker fans and railbirds. This list gives recognition to the players who are running hot this year.
First on the list is Team PokerStars Netherlands Pro Pieter De Korver, who has earned $3,275,389 in tournaments winnings this year. His biggest profit came from winning the EPT Monte Carlo; he managed to win the event after been crippled to just three big blinds.
Second on the list is a 22-year-old Canadian named Poorya Naazari who has only cashed once this year: he won the EPT Caribbean Adventure in January. He cashed $3 million at the EPT Caribbean Adventure event. He won his seat to the tournament on a $33 triple turbo re-buy on PokerStars.
Third on the list is Vitaly Lunkin, who won 3 World Series of Poker Bracelets this year. His earnings are up to $2,765,949 and 68% of that amount came from winning event number #2 at the WSOP for a prize pool of $1,891,012.
Fourth on the list is Yevgeniy Timoshenko, who was born in the Ukraine but moved to US when he was 10 years old. Back in April 2009 he won the World Poker Tour Championship and took home a prize pool of $2,149,960. Timoshenko also played at the 2009 WSOP and recorded two cashes for a little over $50K.
Fifth on the list is Constant Rijkenberg, a twenty-year-old Dutch poker player. He won the EPT San Remo and recorded his only win this year for $2,139,921.
