The World Poker Tour (WPT) announced its end-of-season schedule yesterday, a lineup which will feature seven stops in 2014.
All seven of the tour stops will be in the United States: two in Atlantic City, two in California, and three in Florida, which is quickly becoming a poker hotbed. The first stop of the new year will be the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open at, obviously, the Borgata in Atlantic City, with the Main Event running January 26th through January 31st. A week later, the tour will head down the coast to Coconut Creek, Florida, for the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open.
At the start of March, it’s on to the west coast for the WPT L.A. Poker Classic and then the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star. After that, players will make the return trip to Florida or the WPT Jacksonville bestbet Open and the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown.
Season XII will conclude, as always, with the WPT World Championship, but for the first time, it will not be at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. In 2014, the tour will end with its third appearance of the season at the Borgata.
“We are very excited about the depth and breadth of our Season XII schedule,” said WPT President, Adam Pliska, in a press release. “We’ve taken great care to ensure all of our players – whether they’re on the Main Tour or in our WPT Regional or WPT National events – enjoy world-class experiences at premier venues around the globe.”
There are also nine more WPT National and Regional tour stops scheduled for the first half of 2014. These stops, which are similar to the Main tour stops, feature more affordable buy-ins. The WPT Regional events will be held in Mississippi and Florida, while the WPT National events will be over in Europe in Belgium, England, and France.
The next stop on the World Poker Tour is the bwin WPT Grand Prix de Paris, held at the legendary Aviation Club de France in Paris. The Main Event will run from October 25th through October 30th.
